How was your day? is the first wellbeing support app feature of its kind, developed with design input from a team of behavioural psychologists to promote optimum health. It provides a simple and easy-to-use wellbeing feature within the Trickle app to:

  • raise your awareness of the impact of your daily lifestyle choices on your wellbeing

  • provide real-time support to help you to improve and/or maintain your wellbeing

  • enable your organisation to identify wellbeing issues at work so that they can optimise your working environment

How do I use the “How was your day?” Feature on desktop?

At the end of your working day, simply click on either the smiley or sad face in the How was your day? card which sits in the right sidebar of your Trickle view.

Choose the emoji which best represents your day, then choose what lifestyle factors contributed positively or negatively to your day by clicking on the lifestyle icons that apply to you.

No day is perfect so, even if you choose the happy face, you can still record factors that weren't so positive by clicking on the "what went poorly?" link before submitting your response. The same goes for recording a not-so-good day with the sad face.

If you select the happy face, you will receive a friendly nudge to spread your happiness by sending a Fist Bump. If you select the unhappy face, you will be given the option to raise a Trickle on the issue and to get support to find a solution.

How do I use the “How was your day?” Feature on mobile?

At the end of your working day, click on the 3 blue bars at the top left-hand side of your screen to access the drop-down menu and How was your day? option.

Simply choose either the smiley or sad face to answer the question.

Once you have chosen which emoji best represents your day, you can then choose what lifestyle factors contributed positively or negatively to your day by simply clicking on the lifestyle icons/categories that apply to you.

See the example here showing some of the positive lifestyle categories you can choose from.

Once you have clicked the “done” button you then have the option to send a Fist Bump to keep spreading those positive vibes!

See here another example of some of the negative lifestyle categories you can choose from.

Once you have clicked the “done” button, you then have the option to raise a Trickle to keep the discussion going and to get support to find a solution to the issue.

💡 Tip: If you have notifications set up, you will receive a How was your day? notification at 5pm every day as a helpful reminder to submit your response.

Tracking your Happiness

At the end of each week Trickle provides you with a personalised email report summarising your happiness for that week, and what lifestyle factors have had a postive and/or negative impact on this.

💡Tip: If you are able to submit your How was your day? response daily (it's super-quick and easy!), your weekly summary can help you to build a really clear and helpful picture of what is directly impacting on your health and wellbeing throughout the week, empowering you to create positive change!

Your Answers are Anonymous

As always, your answers are anonymous so you can safely share how you're really feeling. Your Trickle Champions only see a summary of the overall “collective happiness” of your organisation. This provides them with relevant and timely information to help shape the wellbeing supports and resources that your organisation provides.

How was your day? has helped others

Here are some examples of how this feature has supported positive change within organisations using the Trickle How was your day? feature:

  • A health board discovered that a main negative contributor to how their people were feeling was dehydration. The “How was your day?” feature flagged this and, after investigating further, the organisation realised that PPE and new regulations during Covid meant people were unable to take as many breaks to hydrate. More 'hydration stations' were set up and staff subsequently reported on “How was your day?” that hydration was a positive factor in the majority of people's days after this simple intervention.

  • Office-based organisations with staff working from home during the pandemic learned from their “How was your day?” data summary that lack of sleep was a commonly reported negative factor affecting their people. The organisations were then able to share sleep-related resources through Shout Abouts, and open up a discussion by raising a Trickle to dig deeper on how staff were coping with this and if anyone had any lifestyle tips they would like to share.
