Acting on and completing Trickles is one of the best ways Champions can demonstrate to peers on the Trickle platform that their ideas and concerns are being heard.

Acting on and completing a Trickle on Web

Step 1: Click on 'Act Now' button

When you see a Trickle you feel able to act on, you can select the option to Act Now. This assigns you as the Trickle Champion and prompts you to provide an update. Acting on a Trickle gives you the opportunity to thank the person for raising the Trickle, encourage others to share ideas or opinions or acts as a holding message while you go away to gather more information. Your update will be visible in the comments section and people will be able to follow the journey of that Trickle through to completion.

Tip: If the Trickle doesn't require any middle step and you can immediately tell someone the answer or signpost skip 'Act Now' and assign yourself as the Champion to skip to complete - this puts the Trickle straight to a vote, we'll show you in the next video.

Step 2: Mark as Complete

When you're satisfied you have reached a resolution and are ready to complete the Trickle click on 'Mark Complete'. In the text box type why you think the Trickle is complete and select 'Ok'. Your proposal for completion will be put to vote and people following the Trickle will be notified. Once the Trickle closes your update will show as the final solution - try to be as clear and detailed as possible here as this will help when people view 'Completed Trickles' to see what came from the conversation and feeds into reporting for your organisation.

Assign a Trickle

You can assign another Champion to a Trickle if you know this is something they are working on or have specialist knowledge in.

You can also assign a Trickle to yourself to skip "Act Now' and go straight to completion.

Step 3: Voting

People have 7 days to vote on a Trickle that has been completed. Followers can choose 👍 or 👎. For the Trickle to be successfully closed, the positive votes need to be more than or equal to the number of negatives votes. If a completion proposal isn’t accepted, the Trickle will remain open and more discussion and updates can take place. Anyone who has followed, supported or commented on a Trickle will be notified it has gone to a vote.
